Joe Fresh Coral Nail Polish Review - a pleasant surprise!

While procrastinating one day at the grocery store I nipped over to the cosmetics section and found this great coral polish by Joe Fresh.  I usually only buy O.P.I. and Essie but for only $4 I thought I'd give this one a shot.  It's not the same quality as high end nail polishes, but it's WAY better than I expected.

Pros:
-Great color, this would look good on any skin tone.
-Long lasting, I'm talking a pedi lasting two weeks sans chipping.
-Affordable at only $4.

Cons:
-Streaky, I applied three coats for even color and coverage.

Not only did this little bottle brighten up an otherwise dreary grocery shopping trip, I was pleasantly surprised overall by this drugstore nail polish.  Great value, I will be sporting this beautiful coral all summer on my toes.  This will not be my last Joe Fresh nail polish, next time I'm going for their 3 for $10 deal.

Best Recovery Drink - Coconut Dream Chocolate Review

Mmmmmm.....I chug a cold glass of this after every run and yoga class.  So creamy, not watery like some other brands.  So chocolatey, it looks like a glass of chocolate milk and tastes pretty darn close.  Just a hint of coconut.  It's packed with lots of vitamins, a perfect recovery drink.  Also satisfies chocolate cravings.

The Top 12 Products That Are ALWAYS In My Bathroom

These are 12 of my all time FAVORITE products.  Products I can't live without and have continuously replaced every time I use them up.  These are my fail-safes, never let me down supplies that are always in my bathroom.

1

1.  Montagne Jeunesse - A "cheap and cheerful" drugstore find, I stock up on these for $1.87 each at Wal Mart.  I use these twice a week to keep my pores clean.  They don't "burn" like some masques do, all very soothing for my sensitive skin.  The cloth ones are super easy if you don't feel like dealing with taking off the mud.

2.  Bare Essentuals Deep Cleansing Foam - I switched from Clinique's Acne Solutions Foaming Cleanser to this, and it's been more effective in the relentless acne battle.  You only need a little, one tube lasts me about 10 months.  It lathers nicely and doesn't dry out my skin.

Matt & Nat Hendrix Bag Review

Matt & Nat Hendrix bag in shell
Live beautifully?  Yes please.
Ordered this little gem from beyondtherack.com . This is my second Matt & Nat bag and it did not disappoint; excellent quality and unique style.  The three zipper V's and heavy clips make it rock and roll (hence, Hendrix) and the sophisticated color and chain make it elegant.  LOVE this combination.

My Hendrix bag is in shell, a lovely light neutral beige that goes with everything. It comes with two lengths of chains (straps), which adds to the bags versatility.  Also includes one of their storage bags.

Hendrix would totally wear this.  If he were alive.  And a woman.

Yoga Is Not A Cure For Depression - But It Can Help

Big rectangles in bright colors scatter the dimly lit room.  On each of them lies a full grown adult, eyes closed.  There is something child-like, something reminiscent of kindergarten nap time about a yoga class.  It's hard not to look around at everybody in the room.  Why are you here?  Do you feel as bad as I do?  I lie back too and close my eyes, trying to calm my turbulent mind and wait for the class to begin.

Peanut Butter Power Bar Pumpkin Muffins

I had one lonely Power Bar left in one of those big boxes you can buy from Costco.....my least favorite one: peanut butter.  I thought it could help beef up a hearty muffin recipe I've been working on.  The muffin is very healthy, I imagine a park ranger enjoying one of these on a trail in Yosemite or in a fire look-out tower.  Use your imagination here, people.

bpd friend

Out of all the people I have lost in this life, she is one of the ones I miss the most.  I felt a connection with her on that wavelength that only people who have felt the true depths of depression know.  There were often non-verbalized moments between us when the rest of the world would vanish, just a shared moment in time when our eyes would meet and that understanding was there.  More than compassion or sympathy but a true knowing of sadness.

If you've ever had someone in your life who has borderline personality disorder you probably know how confusing and explosive those relationships are.  Within those turbulent waters we those moments together, a sisterhood of sadness.  We haven't spoken in almost a year; not a day has gone by I haven't glanced over, wishing I could meet her eyes on our own wavelength.  If I saw her today I would tell her I'm not all bad, I miss you so much.
